Our Candles

Welcome to our products. Our hand-crafted candles are made on our bushland premises in Basin View, adjacent to the relaxing waters of St Georges Basin and only 15 minutes from stunning Jervis Bay in New South Wales, Australia.

Our candles are made using paraffin wax, essential oils and a variety of shaped and novelty moulds. They are scented or unscented and decorated in either splashed or marbled designs. Classic white is also available. Our range also includes a large and unique variety of novelty figurines.

At present we have the two styles or designs, other than plain white scented or unscented. The essential oils are mixed in with the paraffin wax when the candles are poured – so their fragrance can be smelled on warm days or in a warmish atmosphere even when unlit, but are difficult to smell in cool weather as the design is then layered over the white scented candle. Once lit, the heat allows the fragrance to disperse into the air. We do take special orders around certain scents and/or colours.

For “marble” designed candles, simply place an ‘A’ after the code number as shown in some of the photographs. For plain candles, white and unscented, place a ‘P’ before the code. For any other specific combinations, please e-mail us.

AVAILABLE FRAGRANCES:
Australian Bush, Citronella, Coconut, Eucalyptus, Frangipani, Gardenia, Frankincense, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemongrass, Musk, Opium, Patchouli, Rainforest, Rose, Romance, Strawberry, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Ylang Ylang.

AVAILABLE COLOURS:
The bright design called ’Splashed’ comes in combinations of Purple, Blue, Yellow, Red and Green. The marbled design is available in Purple, Pink, Orange and Green base colours.

BURN TIMES
Burn times vary according to the size and shape of the candle, from 3 to 4 hours for our small tapers, to more than 250 hours for our Tall Super large candles. Burn times for our candles are shown on our Catalogue page.

SCENTS
Incense is the strongest, with candles and oil-burners being less intense and about on par. Feedback from customers assures us that the scent is strong enough to identify, and strong enough to enjoy throughout a house and not only in the room in which it is burning. The essential oils are mixed in with the wax, and so are dispersed as the candle is burnt. Nevertheless, on warm days the scent can be detected without burning. So if you are sensitive to strong scents, candles are the way to go.

HURRICANES
The hurricanes (C24) have a note with them to ensure correct care. 1 plain white (C2) candle is included for each wax lantern. They are very popular with citronella in summer around the barbie. They are also popular with restaurants and for weddings. The style of the hurricane prevents it from being blown out when outdoors, or where there is a breeze or draught. They are also very romantic as the colours glow in the dark. Tealights can be used, however, the light given out may not be as bright.

CANDLE CARE
With the really large candles, the customer may have to slice the top away as the candle burns away, only because it becomes difficult to light it if the wick is too far down.

RECYCLING
When people ask whether we can re-use leftover wax, we answer "we do!" Wax is non-biodegradable and we can re-cycle it. If you can store it for us, and let us know where and when to pick it up, we would appreciate it. But if you don’t have room, don’t worry.
